What is a digital portfolio? How can they be used in the classroom? Discuss your experience using Seesaw and how you might envision using a platform like this in your future classroom.
A digital portfolio is a collection of virtual information, achievements and resources.
I believe digital portfolios can be extremely beneficial within the classroom. As an educator you can utilize digital portfolios in your classroom to help you keep track of your students assignments and work. This is also beneficial for students and their parents as they can stay up to date on what is happening within the classroom, as well as students are then able to show their parents what they have been working on in class. Digital portfolios are also ideal for collaboration. Students can work on collaborative projects and include evidence of their teamwork and contributions within their portfolios.

Platforms such as Seesaw, can be great digital portfolios for your classroom; however, there are many other platforms that can serve the same purpose so finding one you like may be quite easy!
I personally have enjoyed using Seesaw and look forward to learning more and using it more consistently. I think it’s a great way to be able to keep everything in one place as it creates more convenience for bringing work home to mark, as well as being able to look back on old assignments and class activities. I could see that if I was a parent I would also enjoy using this platform as I would be able to stay a lot more connected with what my child was doing in class and be excited to see their assignments.
